Weslee was always an accident waiting to happen. If you’re lucky then you might’ve already encountered their properly infectious wonky-pop slash experimental r&b, but chances are you don’t yet know who the heck is behind one of the freshest projects to emerge in 2017.

Production wizard and Kansas-native Josh, first met vocalist Emma when she relocated from London to New York City back in 2014. A partnership that was cemented the very first time they went to the studio when they discovered their mutual lust for American-style donuts - specifically whole wheat glazed donuts - because they’re dense like cake and English donuts are, in Josh’s words, “f*cking terrible”.

Following the release of “Gassed” in March 2017, Emma and Josh continued their reign as buzzworthy purveyors of electro-pop jams, with singles “Bathwater”, “Boy Like You” and “Tongue Tied”. There are two things these Weslee tracks have in common, they all feature Josh’s trusty Roland Jupiter-6 synth and they’re all about the same thing - Emma’s ex beau. “The tracks are about being very in love and then the end of it, obviously, because he’s my ex,” laughs Emma, “It’s complicated.”
