London-based IIlyr’s multi-faceted practice encompasses vocals, music production, choreography and art direction, often exploring and exploiting the points at which these disciplines overlap. His work mines a heady range of source material, from samples of sexual encounters and bodies dancing to soaring vocal recordings made in churches.


Since completing his training at the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, he has gone on to produce work in various solo and collaborative capacities.


A selected creative practitioner on Dazed 100’s list of the most influential talent of 2017. Illyr is currently collaborating with visual artist REMEMBER YOU WERE MADE TO BE USED on moving image/sonic triptych [SCROLLING SUBCONSCIOUS]. His first live show was hosted and streamed by NTS. 


Other recent highlights include a collaborative editorial work shot by Mert Alas for Love Magazine, choreographing Goldfrapp’s music video 'Systemagic' and a live set for Jools Holland and Glastonbury. illyr has also worked with renowned choreographers Holly Blakey and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and danced for clients such as Vivienne Westwood, Dior, Theo Adams Company, Bloc Party and the Music Video Awards.
