Eli Brown

Emerging from the shadows of Bristol’s fabled drum and bass scene, Eli Brown is now moving forward in the house world with his dark high-energy productions.

Unconstrained by musical boundaries but still channelling his sonic roots, Brown is merging weighty Bristol bass lines with classic vocal hooks and caustic synth melodies. He’s crafting a twisted take on club music that will undoubtedly become a dancefloor staple.

Brown made his debut in December 2016 with Can You Feel It / Acid Test on Skream’s Of Unsound Mind imprint, and is readying a follow-up EP, Got The Power, due April 7.

With labels like Steve Lawler’s Viva Music and Toolroom Records giving Brown a platform, he’s gained support from established figures in the house world – and the list is growing.

It is crucial records like 'Play Rough' – a collaboration with techno stalwarts Melody’s Enemy– that prove why the momentum is building. Airplay of 4/4 sub-bouncer 'Acid Test' from BBC Radio 1 tastemakers Annie Mac and Monki, and A-list DJs Groove Armada, Leftwing & Kody and Solardo on Rinse FM, enhance the standing of this relative newcomer.

With more in store this year – including a monstrous collaboration with Skream– it won’t be long until Eli Brown becomes a defining figure in the house music canon.
