Mellah is the alias of Liam Ramsden, a musician from Peckham, south London, who is making music that doesn’t sound like anything else out there right now. It’s a bit in the mould of Matt Johnson’s The The, with Liam himself singing, playing all the instruments and producing, but the music has a bit of an Americana feel, like Springsteen or Neil Young, but with a hard British (and political) twist. His inner bandleader comes out in the compelling live shows he plays with various set-ups, going from solo all the way up to a 7 piece band filled with talented local musicians that gravitate towards him and his music.
