Los Angeles all sibling alt-pop quartet Echosmith effortlessly balance mainstream appeal (see almost 9 million YouTube views of original video for their breakthrough ‘Cool Kids’) with a sense of energy that allowed them to become one of the hottest names on this summer’s Warped Tour.
Currently a VH1 ‘You Oughta Know’ priority artist (which has helped break the likes of Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Lorde in the States), Echosmith commence their UK career with the December 8th release of ‘Cool Kids’ which will be followed a week later by their debut album ‘Talking Dreams’.
After recently playing a successful introductory showcase in London, Echosmith will return to the capital next month to play their first full headline show at The Barfly on November 24th. Tickets go on sale from 9am on Friday October 3rd, and will be available from
Produced by Mike Elizondo (Tegan and Sara, Rilo Kiley), Echosmith have already drawn comparisons to artists as diverse as Paramore, Blondie and The Sundays for their highly accessible contemporary reboot of 80s new wave pop, with tracks such as ‘Come With Me’ and ‘The Safest Place’ capturing the magic that made ‘Cool Kids’ such a huge breakthrough.
Frontwoman Sydney Sierota provides a compelling vocal as well as a stylish focal point for the band, and is supported by the strength of the musicianship of her brothers Noah (bass/vocals), Jamie (guitar/vocals) and Graham (drums).
Since their Warped Tour breakthrough, Echosmith have continued to prosper with high profile TV appearances on Conan O’Brien and The Today Show while the continuing popularity of ‘Cool Kids’ has seen the track reach Gold status in the States with over 500,000 sales as it soared to #1 on the iTunes Alternative Chart. They’re about to tour with Grouplove and Portugal, The Man before they hit the road again with Neon Trees.
