Summer Sundae Weekender is delighted to confirm its first line-up for 2008, in what promises to be one of their most exciting festival to date. Two of Britain’s most vital bands and elder statesmen of indie, The Coral and Supergrass, head up the bill with their unique blend of raucous guitar pop that is as inventive, cheeky and affecting as ever.

Also at the top of the bill is one of last year’s most prominent and brilliant dance acts Simian Mobile Disco, and Pop/House/Disco crossover queen Roisin Murphy. On a more mellow vibe new electronic outfit Whitest Boy Alive (who recently sold out their Electric Ballroom gig and appeared on BBC2’s Culture Show) and the large musical brain of Fife’s King Creosote.

Summer Sundae Weekender has always championed new talent and this year once again it has two of the UK music’s hottest properties. Traditional songstress Rachel Unthank will be providing songs of beguiling beauty, and recent NME cover star, godfather of Nu Rave and all round Hoxton hot property Dev Haynes will be justifying the hype in the guise of bucolic folksters Lightspeed Champion.

Brilliant New York anti-folk legend Jeffrey Lewis, smouldering singer/songwriters Nina Nastasia, Of Montreal and infectious Cambodian pop group Dengue Fever complete the bill so far.

Starting in 2001 as a one day, two stage event, Summer Sundae Weekender has rapidly grown into a three day national, multi award-winning (Best Small Festival 2006, Red Kite Award 2007) Festival.
